Hans Gustaf Wessberg has been appointed as
member of the European Court of
Auditors (ECA).

Wessberg replaces Lars Heikensten, who has
left the ECA to become executive director of the Nobel
Foundation.
Wessberg has previously worked as Swedish
secretary of state at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Prime
Minister’s office.
Wessberg’s mandate at the ECA will last until
February 2012, with possible reelection for another six years
mandate.
