Wayne Upton has been appointed as IFRS
Interpretations Committee chair.
The trustees of the IFRS Foundation, the
oversight body of the International Accounting Standards Board
(IASB), have named Upton as the successor to Robert Garnett.

Upton will take up his new role immediately
and he will chair his first meeting in September. He will also
continue to work as IASB director of international activities.
“We believe that linking Wayne’s
responsibilities on interpretation and international implementation
will help the cause of consistent application,” IFRS Foundation
Trustees vice-chairs and acting co-chairs Tsuguoki (Aki) Fujinuma
and Robert Glauber said.
