The National Audit Office (NAO) has appointed
Lynda McMullan as assistant auditor general.
McMullan begins her role in October and will
report to the head of the NAO, Amyas Morse. She will be responsible
for overseeing the NAO’s work on local government, education and
health.

McMullan has previously been the director of
finance at Kent County Council.
The NAO employs 880 staff and audits the
public spending of government departments.
