Their terms at the office are scheduled to commence on 1 January 2027.

In addition to the new members, two serving board members have also been reappointed by the IPSASB. They are Angela Ryan (New Zealand) and Yacouba Traore (Burkina Faso).

“The IPSASB continues to reflect the broad geographic representation, gender balance and professional expertise needed for a global standard setting board,” a statement said.

The appointments follow a formal nomination and interview procedure conducted by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Nominating Committee.

This process is monitored by the Public Interest Committee, with final member confirmations issued by the IFAC Board.

IPSASB chair Thomas Müller-Marqués Berger said: “Bringing together strong public sector expertise and perspectives from different jurisdictions is fundamental to the IPSASB’s work.

“I look forward to welcoming Francesco, Georgina and Heather to the Board and continuing to benefit from Angela’s and Yacouba’s experience.

“Their contributions will support the IPSASB as we respond to evolving public sector reporting needs and strengthen our focus on supporting the implementation of our standards around the world.”

In June this year, the Consultative Advisory Group (CAG) of the IPSASB re-elected Fabienne Colignon as chair for another three-year term.

Colignon has been associated with the CAG and IPSASB since 2016. She was initially chosen as CAG chair in 2023.
