The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has launched the Faculty of Sustainability Reporting & ESG Leadership.
In a statement, the organisation said the move reflects the growing importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations and sustainability for long-term value creation and responsible corporate conduct.

Additionally, CA Sri Lanka has introduced the Certified Sustainability Reporting & Strategy Advisor (CSRSA) qualification, which is intended to build both technical expertise and strategic capability in sustainability reporting and assurance.
The qualification is also aimed at enabling professionals to embed sustainability considerations into key business decisions. The CSRSA is also expected to help organisations respond to international regulatory developments and shifting stakeholder expectations.
The CSRSA qualification consists of three sequential levels: foundation, application and expert.
These stages correspond to an advanced certificate, diploma and higher diploma in sustainability reporting and strategy.
Once completed, the participants will be able to advise senior leadership on aligning sustainability with governance, risk management and corporate strategy.
Following the launch, CA Sri Lanka has begun the first Level 1 intake, marking the start of the CSRSA pathway for the initial group of candidates.
CA Sri Lanka president Tishan Subasinghe said: “The world is undergoing a profound transformation where sustainability and responsible governance are no longer aspirational concepts, but core drivers of long-term value creation.
“As the national body of accountants, CA Sri Lanka has a responsibility to ensure that our professionals remain at the forefront of this change.
“The launch of the Faculty of the Sustainability Reporting & ESG Leadership and the CSRSA qualification is timely and essential.”
Last month, CA Sri Lanka created the Faculty of Business Law & Regulatory Compliance to reflect the increasing role of chartered accountants in governance and regulation.
