The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has named Eric Oduro Osae as its new CEO.

The ICAG made the announcement via a LinkedIn post on 5 January. Oduro Osae succeeds Kwasi Agyemang, who retired in November 2025.

“We entreat you to kindly take note of this important notice and lend your support to the New CEO of the Institute,” the post said.

Oduro Osae has more than 25 years’ experience across professional practice and the public sector, covering sectors such as accounting, audit, corporate governance, institutional reform, law and public finance.

He is a Fellow of ICAG and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana and has worked with national and international bodies.

Before taking up the ICAG role, the new CEO served as director-general of the Internal Audit Agency of the Republic of Ghana.

Additionally, Oduro Osae holds a current appointment with the UN, serving as an audit and assurance advisor as a member of the Independent Audit Advisory Committee of the UN General Assembly.

In 2024, the UN appointed him as a governmental expert on anti-corruption under the UN Convention Against Corruption, where he contributed to country reviews of member states’ anti-corruption implementation.

He has also previously supported the ICAG’s professional work as an examiner and moderator in public sector accounting and finance.

In April 2025, Ghana allocated around 48m cedis ($3.26m) in its 2025 budget to train more than 3,200 public financial managers and accountants.
