Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB)
technical director Angus Thomson is to become director of research
and deputy chief executive officer, as part of a restructuring
exercise.
Deputy technical Director Robert Keys will
become the AASB technical director, and both appointments will be
effective January 2011.
Robert Keys will manage traditional AASB projects that trigger due
process. Angus Thomson will manage research projects on critical
issues that should impact, or are impacting, financial reporting
requirements but fall outside normal projects.
Dean Ardern, who has been involved in managing projects on
superannuation, insurance, share-based payments and employee
entitlement accounting, has also been promoted to senior
project manager.
