The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM Kashipur) to develop programmes to strengthen the skills of chartered accountants (CA).

The MoU sets a framework for joint cooperation covering the design and delivery of customised training programmes. The scope of the collaboration also includes refresher courses, seminars and workshops.

Under the agreement, IIM Kashipur will design and run collaborative courses specifically for chartered accountants, in consultation with the ICAI.

According to a BW Education report, these programmes will centre on applied learning, using practical case studies, lectures aligned with current market practices and scenario-based methodologies.

The ICAI will help to publicise the programmes through its official communication channels including digital platforms and publications.

IIM Kashipur director Neeraj Dwivedi said: “Chartered accountants play a crucial role in ensuring transparency, financial discipline and trust in the economy.

“Through this MoU with ICAI, we aim to support their continuous learning by offering programmes that combine sound accounting practices with practical managerial and regulatory insights.”

Participants who complete the courses successfully will receive participation certificates.

IIM Kashipur (Development) dean Kunal Ganguly said: “The MoU creates a structured platform for developing well-designed, practice-oriented programmes tailored to the evolving needs of the accounting profession.

“This partnership will enable IIM Kashipur to contribute meaningfully through executive education, applied research and contemporary learning frameworks that align with the expectations of chartered accountants and the broader financial ecosystem.”

Last month, the ICAI held the Global Education Summit in Commerce and Accountancy 2026 in New Delhi to examine how commerce and accountancy education can be reshaped for future leadership roles.
