In a statement, the ICAI said that the MDP was designed to supplement participants’ technical grounding in accountancy with training in management, leadership and strategic decision-making.
The ICAI stated that the curriculum included sessions on strategic thinking, business communication and corporate governance.
It also covered AI use cases in finance, data analytics, business ethics, innovation and sustainability.
ICAI president Prasanna Kumar D said: “The Management Development Programme for CA rank holders is a visionary initiative of the institute, which was introduced in 2019 with the objective of nurturing our brightest talents beyond academic excellence.
“This programme aims to empower CA rankers with leadership capabilities, strategic thinking and managerial acumen, enabling them to take on leadership roles in the near future.
“We firmly believe that today’s rank holders are tomorrow’s leaders and through such initiatives, we are committed to shaping well-rounded professionals who will contribute meaningfully towards nation building.”
The ICAI recently postponed the implementation of its Standards on Quality Management for audit and assurance practices.
The updated framework, which had been due to take effect on 1 April, was deferred until a new date was announced.
The postponement came after the ICAI and the National Financial Reporting Authority differed over the institute’s October 2024 notification on SQM 1 and SQM 2.
