As the competent authority for audit oversight within ADGM, the RA is responsible for regulatory actions against audit firms and principals when necessary.

By joining the EWG, the RA aligns with global audit regulators, including the UK’s Financial Reporting Council (FRC), the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and Japan’s Financial Services Authority (FSA)/Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB).

Established in 2013, the IFIAR EWG focuses on enhancing coordination in enforcement activities, including investigations, to strengthen stakeholder protection and improve audit quality.

The RA’s regulatory priorities for 2024-2025 emphasise promoting audit quality and enforcing timely, proportionate actions to maintain the integrity of ADGM’s financial ecosystem.
