The signing ceremony was attended by UK Trade Envoy to Bangladesh and member of the House of Lords, Baroness Rosie Winterton, alongside British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke.

Through this agreement, National University students will be able to follow the ACCA’s qualification route, beginning with the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) programme.

The collaboration aims to equip students with competencies suited to both local and overseas labour markets, targeting roles in corporate organisations, small and medium-sized enterprises, accounting practices and the business process outsourcing industry.

The initiative is expected to open doors to further academic progression and internationally recognised professional designations, with the stated aim of improving graduates’ employment prospects.

Amanullah explained that the strategic tie-up represents a key step in boosting employability and in laying a stronger base for accounting and finance education in Bangladesh.

He noted that cooperation between the two institutions would support knowledge sharing, capacity enhancement and the adoption of international benchmarks within the university’s education system.

Winterton also welcomed the signing of the pact, saying the agreement widens access to international qualifications for National University students.
