The Global Preparers Forum, an independent advisory body to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), has appointed four new members for initial five-year terms to broaden its regional and sector representation.

The appointees are Cristina Fortunati of Davide Campari-Milano, Hanjong Yoo of Samsung Electronics, João Costa Santos of NatWest Group, and Toby Odell of International Airlines Group.

Fortunati oversees group IFRS reporting, accounting policy, and external disclosures at Campari, while managing standard implementation, complex transaction accounting, and digital reporting.

She previously held senior advisory roles at PwC.

On the other hand, Yoo leads the corporate accounting group at Samsung. His career spans nearly three decades across corporate financial reporting, cross-border tax, consolidations, and internal reporting controls.

Costa Santos heads accounting policy, valuation, and regulatory reporting at NatWest, while Odell directs application of IFRS Accounting Standards at International Airlines Group.

The additions temporarily lift the forum above its customary 20-member ceiling, an arrangement permitted under its constitution.

Independent of both the IASB and the IFRS Foundation, Global Preparers Forum provides regular practitioner perspectives from financial statement preparers across global markets.

A statement said: “GPF members are established commentators on accounting matters and have considerable practical experience of financial reporting, through either their careers or their work with representative bodies.

“Members are drawn from a variety of industry and geographical backgrounds and are selected on the merits of their professional competence and practical preparer experience to contribute to the development of high-quality IFRS Accounting Standards.”
