The tie-up brings together the ACCA’s qualifications, accredited learning materials and global network with UNITAR’s reach and experience in training and capacity development.
The partnership is intended to support institutional resilience, workforce preparedness and sustainable development, while broadening access to quality learning in online and in-person formats across different regions.
ACCA CEO Helen Brand said: “Developing financial and business skills with sustainability and ethics at their heart is vital for a successful and inclusive future, and we look forward to working on this with UNITAR.”
The MoU will be translated into a joint action plan outlining concrete areas of collaboration for the current fiscal year.
UNITAR executive director Michelle Gyles-McDonnough said: “This MoU reflects our shared commitment to advancing the technical capabilities of finance, business and accounting for both individuals and the public sector, while recognising the vital importance of doing so through ethical, sustainable and inclusive approaches.”
The ACCA recently launched an SMP Talent Management Toolkit to help small and medium-sized accounting practices attract, develop and retain staff.
The material includes two linked publications: the ‘SMP Talent Management Toolkit’ for practice leaders and ‘Why choose a career in a small or medium-sized practice?’ for prospective and existing candidates.
