Proceedings were opened by Umesh Soni, who acted as host for the event, before a formal welcome by chapter chairperson Rohit Agarwal.

Agarwal underlined the rising importance of digital transformation in finance and pointed to the need for accountants and finance specialists to adopt AI-enabled solutions as business practices evolve.

The main technical presentation was delivered from India by Royal Bank of Scotland vice-president Harpreet Singh.

Focusing on Claude AI, Singh outlined the tool’s core features and capabilities and demonstrated how it can be used in areas such as accounting workflows and financial reporting.

He also presented a series of use cases centred on automation of routine tasks, advanced analytical work and improving efficiency in finance functions.

Established in April 2006, the ICAI Kuwait Chapter was set up to support the professional growth of Indian chartered accountants (CAs) in Kuwait and to provide a forum for networking.

According to its website, the chapter seeks to advance members’ skills in accounting and finance while contributing to Kuwait’s economic development through improved productivity and addressing capability gaps in the local accounting profession.

Last month, the ICAI introduced a ceiling of 60 tax audit assignments per CA in India.

The move is aimed at strengthening oversight of how audit work is allocated and carried out within partnership structures, particularly at larger companies.
