Jann Brown has been appointed chair of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB).

Brown is the current president of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Scotland (ICAS), and succeeds the outgoing CCAB chair Anthony Harbinson, who is the deputy president of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Brown said she wanted to take forward CCAB strategic agenda to create sustainable economic growth.

"The profession comes together as CCAB to rebuild trust and to continue to further our agenda of ‘Accountants for Growth’," she said. "Part of this is helping the wider public and the political world to better understand the value that professional accountants play in local, national and global economies as a force for creating wealth, prosperity and public good."

CCAB combines membership of ACCA, ICAS, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and Chartered Accountants Ireland. It provides a forum for the bodies to work together collectively on matters affecting the profession and the wider economy.
