Hong Kong’s Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has appointed Florence Wong as its deputy CEO. Wong currently serves at the FRC as an executive director and head of oversight, policy and governance.

Wong previously served as a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

FRC CEO Marek Grabowski said: Florence has rich experience in supporting the then CEOs and Chairman in driving the FRC reform and subsequently, before my arrival, as Acting CEO in establishing the organization, resourcing, policies and procedures of the FRC under the new auditor regulatory regime. I am delighted to have her strategy and administration support in moving the FRC forward.”

FRC chairman Kelvin Wong said: On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to Florence on her appointment. Under the new auditor regulatory regime, the FRC is growing and continuing to evolve to deliver its functions efficiently and holistically across the full spectrum of its expanded statutory duties. As Deputy CEO, Florence will further support our CEO in establishing and implementing strategy and driving efficiency in the administration of our expanded functions.”
