News brief: Chair of IFRS advisory council reappointed for second term

Joanna Perry was reappointed as chair of the IFRS advisory council for a second three-year term, effective 1 January 2017. she has been in the position since April 2014.

“I am pleased she has decided to continue in this important role, driving the discussions at the Advisory Council meetings and helping bring important input from the Council members to both the Trustees of the IFRS Foundation and the International Accounting Standards Board,” Michel Prada, chairman of the IFRS Foundation Trustees, said.      

The IFRS advisory council comprises 40 representatives from a wide range of backgrounds and geographic regions and its mission is to advice the IFRS Foundation on strategic and technical matters.
