IMA launches new certification for management accountants to build on their strategic skills

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) has announced a new speciality certification, the Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis (CSCA), an expansion to the CMA certification to help management accountants with their strategic planning, analysis and decision making skills.

As CFOs are more and more expected to participate in a company’s strategy planning, IMA’s new certification aims to help management accounting professionals to meet this market trend.

Dennis Whitney, senior vice president at IMA said: “The CSCA is ideal for management accountants who not only want to enhance their careers, but also sustain their professional development. It provides CMAs with the opportunity to reinforce the skills they gained from the CMA, and position themselves to lead the strategic management process.”
