IFRS Foundation appoints advisory council member

The trustees of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) have appointed Maarika Paul to the IFRS advisory council, which advises on the strategic direction, technical work plan and priorities of both the trustees and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

Paul also serves as executive vice-president and chief financial officer of the Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, a Canadian institutional fund manager.

Her term will last for three years, and has begun with immediate effect. In January other three members were appointed: Olav Jones, Anne Simpson and Surya Subramanian.

In December 2013, Joanna Perry was appointed chairman of the IFRS advisory council, effective 1 April.
