ICAEW creates further education opportunities for CFOs

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) will create further education opportunities for CFOs so that all finance leaders become commercial leaders as well, who can work strategically with the CEOs.

Stephen Ibbotson, ICAEW director of business said: “The role of the CFO is evolving. CEOs and company boards are placing increasing demands on CFOs and their finance teams to provide fact based insight to enable the business to make strategic decisions the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in April, and the advent of an insolvency regime all add to the complexity and challenge of a financial director’s role. The further education sector needs financial directors who are inspiring, forward-looking, commercial leaders.”
